Guideline for Abstract

General Guideline
  • Abstracts must be submitted and presented in English.
  • Nominee is a registered APRAS member, or the work is substantially connected to the Asia-Pacific region. Registration is not mandatory in the submission process; however, all Presenting Authors must register for the Congress deadline by Augst 20, 2026 , otherwise, the abstract will not be included in the final Congress program
  • Deadline for abstract submission on Monday, June 15th, 2025
  • However, please note, that the scientific committee will make the final decision for the type of presentation. Awards will be also selected by the committee
  • Abstracts cannot contain advertising, trade names, or product group messages. Please use generic names or terms in your abstract content
  • All required documents submitted in full text
  • Nomination form correctly completed
  • Innovation falls within the defined scope of the nominated award category
  • No duplicate submission in the same award cycle
  • Conflict of interest declaration is included
INNOVATION AWARDS CATEGORIES
  • Innovation in Surgical Technique
    This award honours an individual, team, or institution that has developed or refined a surgical technique with demonstrable impact on the outcomes, safety, or accessibility of plastic and reconstructive procedures. The innovation may encompass novel operative approaches, modifications to established procedures, or the introduction of minimally invasive methods that enhance precision and patient recovery
  • Innovation in Device, Technology & Biomaterials
    This award recognises ground-breaking advancement in the development, application, or adaptation of devices, surgical instruments, digital technologies, or biomaterials used in plastic and reconstructive surgery. This includes innovations in implantable devices, imaging and navigation technology, artificial intelligence-assisted surgical planning, bioengineered scaffolds, and next-generation prosthetics or fillers
  • Innovation in Biological, Regenerative & Genetic Science
    This award celebrates pioneering research and clinical application in the biological sciences as they pertain to plastic and reconstructive surgery. This encompasses advances in tissue engineering, stem cell therapy, regenerative medicine, wound healing biology, transplantation immunology, and genetic or genomic approaches to understanding and treating conditions managed by plastic surgeons. Nominees at the forefront of translating biological discovery into surgical practice are especially encouraged
  • Innovation in Education & Training
    This award recognises exceptional contributions to the education, training, and professional development of plastic and reconstructive surgeons across the Asia-Pacific region. Eligible innovations include novel simulation-based training programmes, digital learning platforms, structured mentorship models, competency frameworks, and community outreach or capacity-building initiatives that improve access to quality surgical education — particularly in underserved or resource-limited settings
Information Required to Complete a Submission
  • Abstract < 500 words
  • Submit original, unpublished or recently published work
  • Structured format (Background, Methods, Results, Discussion, Evidence level classification)
  • Ethics approval documentation except for Education and Training
  • Conflict of interest statement
  • Supporting figures/tables (max 5)
  • Optional: Video (≤5 minutes)
  • Language: English
  • Formatting: Times New Roman 12 pt, single spacing
  • Disclose conflict of interest and accept terms and conditions. You need to fill the COI form provided in submission => Conflict of Interest / Disclosure Statement page
Editing

Abstracts may be edited until the submission deadline. After that, no changes in content or co-authors may be made. Once the review process begins, no changes to submissions are allowed – no exceptions. Please note that any typographical or spelling errors, improperly formatted titles, etc., WILL NOT be edited by anyone at the Organizing Committee. It is the responsibility of the Submitting Author to review and verify all work submitted

Selection

Notification of the Abstract Selection Committee’s decision will be sent by August 3, 2026 via email to the Submitting Author, regardless of the outcome
